Tselinskiy district is situated to the southeast of Rostov region, 140 km away from Rostov-on-Don. The district territory boarders with Zernogradskiy, Salskiy, Peschanokopskiy and Egorlykskiy districts of Rostov region and with the Beloglinskiy district of Krasnodar region.
The district territory extension from north to south is 100 km, from east to west – 25-40 km.
The district administrative center is village Tselina. The neighboring regional towns are Salsk, Zernograd and Proletarsk.
The distance from village Tselina to Krasnodar is 330 km, to Volgograd – 445 km, to Moscow – 1248 km.
The district main trade is agriculture, specializing in grain production, mainly wheat, sunflower; cattle breeding, producing meat and dairy products.
The most rentable and multi-trade district enterprises are – “Kirovskiy stud-farm” CC, “Rodina” CC, agricultural co-operative “Pobeda” (specializing in cattle breeding, plant growing, agricultural products processing).
The “Kirovskiy stud-farm” CC, specializes in stud and racing horses breeding. Nowadays, the farm has the largest in Europe livestock of elite racing Trakenen breed horses.
