Kayalsky readings are familiar to many residents of the Rostov region and not only!
The festival "International Kayal Readings" has been held since 2002 in the Belokalitvinsky district of the Rostov region. Here, on the territory of the present Pogorelov farm, according to one version, in 1185 a historic battle took place between Novgorod and the north Prince Igor and the Polovtsi.
Only by reading the event is not limited to - guests are offered performances of the reenactors depicting the battle of Igor's squad with nomads, concerts of folklore and pop music. You can try your hand at the contest of readers of "The Lay of Igor's Campaign", as well as in master classes of folk crafts, national costume contest and sports contest "Bogatyri Kayaly".
Participation in the "Kayal Readings" became a tradition for dozens of folklore groups in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Over the past 15 years, during which they are held, a lot of spectators, participants, guests have visited Pogorelov! Many of them, by tradition, on the third Saturday of May come here with family or friends.
