This is not just speculation, it is an officially verified truth, because according to the results of the International Congress of Culture and Media Volunteers, which took place in early October, Novocherkassk was recognized as the most hospitable city in the south.
Expert sessions, a scientific and practical conference of young researchers, creative workshops, music and street art festivals, an info tour, an art tour, an open air and much more were in the program of the event.
Volunteers from many regions of Russia and 18 countries of the near and far abroad gathered at the congress. The guests visited the Ataman Palace, the Patriarchal Ascension Cathedral and the SRSTU (NPI) complex, and then took part in a fascinating quiz on the history of the Don and its literary heritage. Journalists, literary critics, travel bloggers, teachers, employees of theaters, museums and libraries, all who are interested in Russian culture, appreciated the hospitality in the capital of the Cossacks.
The main objectives of the event are the involvement of compatriots and foreigners in social projects, in volunteering, which is developing in the fields of media and culture, as well as the popularization of Don authors: Zakrutkina, Solzhenitsyn, Kalinin and Chekhov.
A commemorative award in gratitude for the warm welcome was presented to the representative of the city administration - deputy head of the city administration Elena Tabarovets.
- The Congress was a very large-scale event, bringing together representatives of 18 countries, participants from most regions of the Russian Federation, and a large number of residents of the Don region. We held events in various memorable places of the Rostov region, visited cities and villages - centers of the Don culture, where we were very warmly welcomed. Novocherkassk left in our hearts the warmest and brightest impressions. Congress participants noted the reverent attitude of citizens to the culture and history of the Don region and the hospitality of the guests of the Cossack capital, - Zinaida Bolotova noted at the presentation of the award.
