Government of Rostov region awarded the best representatives of the tourism industry

On November 22, the solemn ceremony of awarding winners of the regional professional competition "Leaders of the Tourist Industry of the Don" was held. On behalf of the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev, the meeting was welcomed by the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Papushenko.

Recall that this year the professional competition was held in 10 nominations among tour operators (travel agents) of domestic and international tourism, hotels in all categories and guides. The winners received the diplomas of the government of the Rostov region, signed by the governor Vasily Golubev, and monetary compensation. The total prize fund in 2017 was 325 thousand rubles.

Maxim Papushenko thanked the representatives of the tourism industry for their contribution to the development of the industry.

  

"The results of your work is a significant contribution to the economy of the Don. The share of tourism in the Rostov region in the total amount of GRP is more than 12 billion rubles, - he said. - The government of the region relies on the tourism industry as a promising direction of development, Don tourism has great potential for further growth. "

According to experts, our area as a tourist destination has become a noticeable region. The annual tourist flow to the region consistently exceeds 1 million people.

One of the strengths of the region's tourism potential is event tourism. Recently, the Rostov region entered the Gold League of the National Rating for the development of event tourism. Also this year our region is included in the project "Gastronomic Map of Russia".

For reference. Eventive tourist events in the Rostov region in 2017 collect a record number of visitors. For example, the festival "The Defense of Taganrog in 1855" gathered 20 thousand people, the 10th anniversary ethnographic festival "Don Vine" - 22 thousand.
