A record number of guests - 22 thousand people - arrived last Saturday, September 30, in the Pukhlyakivsky farm in the Ust-Donetsk region for the 10th anniversary ethnographic festival "Don Vine." Completion of the high tourist season on the Don turned out to be truly large: the number of guests has more than doubled compared to last year.
The organizers of the holiday were the Ministry of Economic Development of the Rostov region and the administration of the Ust-Donetsk region.
On behalf of the governor of the participants, the Deputy Head of the Don Region Vadim Artemov and the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Papushenko greeted the participants.
"Today Don viticulture and winemaking are deservedly highly appreciated not only in Russia, but also in the world," noted Vadim Artemov. - The wine cluster "Don Valley" created on the initiative of the governor is developing, special routes have appeared - wine tours. Every seventh bottle of wine bought in the area is produced on our land. This is a typical example of effective "import substitution".
The purpose of the festival is to demonstrate the tourist attractiveness of the Don region, popularize the tourism of enogastronics, and support the unique traditions of the Don viticulture and winemaking. The holiday is widely known not only in the Rostov region, but also far beyond its borders: guests from Kuban and Stavropol, from the Voronezh region and St. Petersburg, as well as tourists from other countries came to Pukhlyakovskiy farm.
"Cossacks, Don cuisine and Don wine are the main attributes of the tourist image of the Rostov region. In this regard, the festival "Don Vine" - one of the main events of tourist events on the Don. Thanks to such holidays, the Rostov Region is included in the Golden League of the National Rating for the development of event tourism, "Maxim Papushenko emphasized. - The holiday is developing every year, expanding the horizons: according to the analytical agency "TourStat" the festival "Don Vine" topped the rating of the most popular wine festivals in 2017 ".
Within the framework of the festival, a traditional agricultural fair unfolded: 70 winemakers presented their products, including seven large wineries. Other gifts of the Don autumn were also widely represented - honey, fruits, berries, seedlings of various grape varieties.
Guests of the holiday had the opportunity to touch the history of our region in the "School of Living Crafts". You could learn the basics of pottery, knitting loin lace, weaving Cossack whip, making Cossack headdresses.
Especially popular among the guests were the competition for skating wooden wine barrels "Wine path", thematic quizzes and jokes.
For fans of a more peaceful pastime a playground was organized for a large picnic right on the shore of the Pacific Don.
